CAKE SMASH PHOTOGRAPHY

Congratulations!!   You made it through your first year of parenting this little human!!  You deserve a holiday and a medal, the first year is HARD!  While the likelihood of receiving a prize is pretty low (unfortunately) it is worth celebrating and a lovely way to do that is with a Cake Smash session.  A quick and casual photography session to let your little one get a little messy, get a little emotional (which is very common!), and have a little fun!  

What you need to know...

Cake smash sessions are usually held just before their 1st birthday, around 11 months old, this allows you to share this fun experience with family and friends to celebrate their birthday or gift prints to those who have helped you get through this time.  It's best to book these sessions when your bub is around 6 months of age.  A deposit is payable to secure your spot in my diary. 

Sessions are held on weekday mornings in my studio in Augustine Heights, they are quick sessions usually lasting around 20-30 min.  This allows time for Bub to get comfortable with the environment and get used to being in front of the camera with some simple portraits then get into the cake!  It's best if fewer people attend these sessions as bubs can easily get overwhelmed and distracted.  You will need to supply a cake, a small vanilla/sponge cake with pale-coloured buttercream icing is recommended as it looks most pleasing in photographs, it is also easier for babies to dig in and is less complex in taste. Some people even prefer a cupcake rather than a full-sized cake which is perfectly fine!   

After your session has concluded you will be emailed an online gallery link within 2 weeks to preview your carefully and fully edited images, from there you can select images for your package.  After full payment, your high-resolution images will be available for digital download. Any selected wall art will be ordered and will be ready for collection after they have been custom-made.
